AFGHAN PROVINCIAL INTEGRITY NETWORKS EXPOSURE VISIT TO SRI LANKA- August 2017

The Centre for humanitarian affairs was requested by Integrity Watch- Afghanistan, a civil society organization which focuses on government transparency, accountability and integrity through community monitoring research and advocacy, to organize a study tour for 20 afghan civil society activists. Their exposure visit lasted 3 days, starting from the 21st August 2017 to the 24th August 2017, with the aim of learning from civic methods used for government accountability and transparency in Sri Lanka. In the span of three days they had panel discussions and meetings with the CEO of Sri Lanka Press Institute, Mr. Kumar Lopez, Isha Miranda, guest speakers from Transparency International and the National Media Centre, a visit to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Corruption and Bribery, and the Parliament where they met with the Honorable Speaker Mr. Karu Jayasundara to name a few .
