HSBC and CHA fund Raising Effort
for recently displaced families
Livelihood initiative at Kannady resettlement village in Mannar District
CHA partnered HSBC in a fund raining effort through its card holders and were happy to received a total of Rs. 680,207.35 together the private donations. The programe targeted families in Mannar who had been recently resettled and focused primarily on livelihood.
CHA did a needs assessment in Kannady Village in Mannar district and selected 48 of the most needy families as recipients.
18 beneficiaries are receiving assistance for the poultry, 07 beneficiaries are receiving assistance for animal husbandry, 03 beneficiaries are receiving assistance to set up small shop, 01 beneficiary is receiving assistance to set up bicycle workshop and 19 beneficiaries are receiving fertilizer packs for their cultivation.
All the beneficiaries are receiving livelihood materials and equipments. The funds received were not sufficient to focus on housing or water satiation facilities. In the next fortnight the distribution will take place and photos of all recipients will be posted.
