Workshop on Introduction to Minimum Standards in Disaster/Humanitarian Response

CHA in consultation with the Government Agent of Hambantota responded to a request to enhance knowledge on Humanitarian Response to government officials of Hambantota district. In ensuring that disaster risk reduction in the Hambantota district is strengthened capacity building for officials who work at grassroots levels was organized. As an initial response CHA conducted an awareness workshop for Hambantota district officials on Minimum Standards in Humanitarian Response at the District Secretariat Auditorium -Hambantota. Training was conducted for over sixty officers representing eight divisions in the district of Hambantota. Training enabled officials to identify specific community needs in disaster response and the international minimum standards in response.
